A deliberate format boundary
SRT stores numeric cue identifiers, text and timestamps. WebVTT can carry positioning, regions, styles and other metadata that have no equivalent here.
Supported subset
This converter handles text-based SRT and WebVTT. It does not convert ASS/SSA, bitmap subtitles, audio or video. Extended WebVTT markup is simplified for SRT.
Review the destination player
A syntactically valid file can render differently in different players. Check line breaks, emphasis and placement before delivering it.
