Subtitle Workbench
Purpose & boundaries

A careful handoff for text subtitles.

Subtitle Workbench is an independent utility for reviewing and preparing SRT and WebVTT files. Its focus is a small delivery workflow: inspect, adjust deliberately, convert with visible limits and compare the revision.

How the results are produced

Deterministic subtitle operations run in your browser. The tools use editable numeric rules; they do not listen to audio, transcribe speech or infer the intended speaker. Original worked examples explain the results and where a human review is necessary.

Who makes the final decision?

You choose the thresholds and whether a timing change should be exported. Keep a backup, check the final audio and use the destination player before replacing a source file.

Feedback without exposing a private file

This release does not collect support submissions. To make a problem reproducible, keep the downloaded JSON report, the settings and a short invented subtitle example. Do not post confidential files in public.

Evidence and updates

The release-checks page records checks actually run for this release. The guides describe this implementation and reference the WebVTT specification where relevant; they do not promise acceptance by a video platform.
